Reversal of Industrial II rezoning

A Lusby resident and at-large commissioner candidate urged approval of the rezoning reversal and asked for immediate environmental assessments, sound and wildlife impact studies, and an inquiry into how the original change happened with so little public notice.

Speaking for Indivisible Calvert County, she thanked the commission for moving the reversal and argued the 2025 rezoning was legally flawed because the change-or-mistake findings couldn't be made for forested land, which is why comprehensive rezoning was used.

A Camp Conoy Road resident said the split zoning of Parcel B was originally a buffer for neighbors, noted his property is now surrounded on two sides by heavy industrial, and urged returning the land to Farm and Forest — stressing it wouldn't stop the plant's own development.
