Department-head severance increase

The North Beach commissioner candidate criticized the severance doubling as irresponsible to taxpayers and argued the Chapter 86 changes amount to a legislative act requiring a public hearing.

The Huntingtown resident and candidate said he was disturbed by the process, denied plans to fire staff, and objected to the Board of Appeals appointments binding the next board.

A Lusby resident read an email strongly objecting to doubling no-fault severance, calling six months excessive and a taxpayer-funded entitlement that weakens accountability.
